Leah’s Favorite Things 2018

Oprah has one. Now I do too.

After researching and months of envy, these are officially my favorite products of 2018. I decided on what to post based on my most recent Amazon purchases (and I think your mom, brother, dad, and BFF will enjoy them too). If you have a millennial who is impossible to shop for, you're welcome.

In honor of Cyber Monday, there's no time like the present to enjoy some of these deals for yourself (see what I did there?)!

An important note: I have not been paid to create this list. I came up with it over the last year by trying products myself and hearing about items highly recommended by friends.

Google Home Hub: $99

Smart homes just function better! I am excited to try this out after hearing several friends rave about it. It’s basically Siri for your home.

Smart Plugs: $16.99

This will work with your Google Home Hub. With these, you can tell Google to control your lights and it will!

Smart Light Bulbs: $29.99

This will work with your Google Home Hub. Similar to the plugs, you can tell Google to dim your lights and it will!

Spanx: $51.63

No matter your size, women need these. I wear them on air almost every day and feel naked without them. They just suck me in and help me feel confident (no VPLs either!)

Tarte Eyeshadow: $59

These colors are fun and they really stay on your eyes all night long! I loooove this set. Plus it’s easy to travel with! It’s the pineapple makeup kit you never knew you needed.

Lowe Alpine Hiking Backpack: $75.50

I do a lot of hiking and love this bag. It fits a camelbak (see below) and can expand to fit so many clothes and hiking essentials. There is a rain cover, hiking pole clasp and a million pockets for a million little things. There’s even a safe inner pouch where I can keep my passport.

Camelbak Bladder and Hose: $36.99

I cannot emphasize how much better this is than a water bottle. I do not go on hikes without it. This one also has an insulated hose that keeps water cold in the summer (so you don’t die in Qatar) and warm in the winter (so it doesn’t freeze while you’re skiing).

Velvet Hangers: $21.49

I have recently restocked my closet only with these and it freed up about a quarter of my wardrobe (now I can buy more clothes!) Which is why I need the next item on my list…

Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less $14.37

My cousin recommended I read this and though it’s next on my reading list, she said it’s a must have.

Braving the Wilderness: $18.82

This book changed my year. I feel bolder and like I have been given permission to be more me. I would especially recommend this to anyone who struggles with anxiety.

Vertical Ergonomic Mouse: $19.99

I spend hours working at a computer every day and this thing has solved all of my wrist problems. Hands are not meant to be flat on a desk. This one feels like you are shaking someone’s hand. While it takes a few days to get used it, going back to a normal mouse sounds like torture.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector for you iPhone: $6.29 (for two!)

I drop my phone all the time. When it seems fatal, this screen protector will crack instead of my actual phone. I replace them every six months or so.

Delta Swarovski Necklace: $39

It’s beautiful, simple, and sleek. Need I say more?

Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones: $169

I use these when I run and it has revolutionized my workouts. No more wires and getting slapped in the face. No more tucking chords into my bra. They hold their charge well and cancel noise like a boss (or a Bose). I also use them religiously to listen to podcasts on planes.

PFG Fishing Shirt: $35.96

I own so many of these and love using them at the beach and running around town. They breathe well (hello living in Qatar during the summer!) and come in fun colors. I prefer men’s sizes and wear a medium.

One Line A Day Journal: $10.17

As a journalist, this is by far my favorite journal. I have been writing one line a day for seven years now and can can see what I did several years ago today when I write. This is a great way to document life’s little joys and hard days. It’s comparable to the app Timehop (just hand written).

If you bought any of these products, let me know! Comment down below with your favorite thing! Happy shopping and Merry Christmas :)
